Ladakh Adventures with Turtuk

Get Transferred to Your hotel with traditional Khataks welcome, Chai and Coffee. While you get accustomed to the altitude, take the day to watch the mountains and just relax with lunch at the hotel. In the evening, visit the historic Shanti Stupa, the magnificent Leh Palace and the colourful Leh Bazaar to buy those beautiful traditional earrings and dresses. Dinner and stay at the hotel.

Have an early breakfast to start the day on a full stomach. Take your first halt & visit Gurudwara Patthar Sahib thanVisit Sangam – the confluence of two rivers and watch in wonder as the water joins together to form two different colours. After that defy gravity at Magnetic Hill. Now you head to visit the oldest monastery in Ladakh – Alchi Monastery, built in 958-1055 on the banks of Indus. With a guided tour through the monastery, emerge yourself in the peaceful vibes surrounding the old architecture. Lunch at Zimskhang Restaurant. Visit Hall of Fame before heading to Stok village for a lovely home cooked meal with a Ladakhi family & you may also get a chance to learn how to make famous Butter Tea, on the way we alsoVisit Spituk Monastery. End the long day at the hotel.

Another early breakfast to keep you awake on the beautiful drive from Leh to Nubra Valley. Leave at 8 am and drive to Khardung La pass (18380 ft), the highest motorable pass in the world. Stop to click those selfies as you stand higher than you ever have and look down at the frozen world below. Eat lunch at Mid May Restaurant and drive further towards Nubra Valley with stops at every scenic turn. Arrive at Camp Desert Oasis/Similar. Walk around the village or just relax. Delicious dinner and comfortable stay at the camp.

Wake up to a beautiful morning and have breakfast at the camp before heading to Turtuk Village, the last border village won by India in 1971. Walk around, work on those photography skills and find nice spots to sit at. Visit the Raja’s family to learn about Gilgit, Skardo and India Pakistan War and brush up on the ancient history of India. Lunch is planned by the river accompanied with a lovely stroll on it’s banks. Head back to Hunder sand dunes and ride on a camel as it walks up and down on the dunes. Drink Chai by a stream in the middle of the sand dunes. Spend night in your comfortable camp.

Enjoy breakfast at the retreat and check out. Travel through time at Diskit Monastery before heading to the most awaited, the timeless beauty of Pangong lake.  The drive is long (6-7 hrs) but the wait is worth it. Stop for lunch and tea en route before arriving at Pangong lake (14270 ft). Watch the water dance as it changes colour every hour from deep blue to turquoise. Walk by the lake or skip some pebbles in it, dip your feet, feel the warmth of the water in the cool breeze. Dinner with a bonfire and some tunes to dance to at Pangong our Camp (If Weather permits), Over night in your cozy Tent accommodation.

Check out after breakfast to head to the film shooting point. Famous for the shots in 3 idiots, it is frequented by many tourists and has to be a part of that wonderful photo op you have been developing thus far. Ride a scooter like Kareena, go yak riding or just sit down for some coffee. Head back to Leh, crossing Chang La Pass (17860 ft), the third highest motorable pass in the world. Have mouth watering lunch at Karu Road Junction before driving across the Indus to visit the 17th Century Hemis Monastery. Explore this largest and wealthiest monastery before saying goodbyes and heading back to Leh. Take the evening off to go exploring on your own. Try the sumptuous cuisine at the local market before heading back for a good nights sleep to Hotel.

Eat a light breakfast before starting the great day of adventure.Try your hand at white water rafting at Sangam for a stretch of 16 km on the Zanskar river. Eat Lunch at Nimoo, near Sangam (Lunch is clubbed with river rafting only). Get ready in your best outfits for the last night at this paradise on earth. To celebrate, a cultural show showcasing Ladakhi tradition will be held. Dinner and cozy night at hotel.
